What’s new in FenestraPro Premium for Revit Version 4.1?

New Graphical Dashboard

Our new intuitive graphical dashboard features animated summary dials for easier viewing of results. The results displayed on the dials show average values for the selected Facades or Surfaces and will update dynamically and in real time as properties are modified for glazing, when windows and curtain walls are added or resized, and when shading features are included.

Custom Standards

Version 4.1 now includes the option to create Custom User Standards to check compliance of the thermal performance of the envelope and the façade.

New standards can be created with the required values for floor, roof, wall and glazing u-values. The Maximum Percentage Glazing and Overall Performance values may also be set for your Standard. When these are saved, they will get added to the available list which may be selected and swapped out later. Any new Custom Standard which is created may also be edited or deleted later and values can always be updated and modified.

If this Custom Standard is selected as the Standard to be used, FenestraPro will use these values for calculating results in the Performance Manager.

Generate Curtain Walls

As well as the ability to ‘Add Windows’ in FenestraPro, version 4.1 now includes Curtain Wall generation. Once a suitable wall has been selected, the ‘Add Curtain Walls’feature becomes available and a new dialog will appear.

Curtain Walls can be automatically generated with pre-set grid offsets, performance values and geometric settings across individual or multiple surfaces, which creates curtain wall assemblies directly on to the selected facades / surfaces.

Surfaces may be selected from the model or from the Façade Navigator. If multiple Surfaces are selected, there will be an option to combine the new curtain walls horizontally or vertically so that the resulting curtain wall will be one entity. Information on potential solar loads and daylighting displays immediately in the dialog window when creating Curtain Walls.

Building Manager can be used to recalculate the solar loads after Curtain Walls are created and the changes will be updated to the Dashboard and Charts.

Custom Façade Groupings

FenestraPro 4.1 also includes the ability to create your own Custom Façade Groupings. User defined Group categories may be created with Customized names containing selected surfaces chosen by the User.

Right-clicking on a Façade name now includes the possibility to create new Group Categories which will appear in the Group list and which can be filtered in the Façade Manager.

Existing Surfaces from any Façade may be now be included in a new User Defined Group

Conceptual Mass User Interface

The UI design for Conceptual Mass models has been improved for version 4.1 and is now similar to that for Detailed models. It easier to navigate while retaining the same familiar user controls which are needed for mass models, glazing, shading and fritting specifications and settings for surrounding buildings (when surfaces on only one façade are selected).

The user interface also includes the new dashboard with summary dial results to make viewing easier. The same interface for both detailed and mass models will make it easier to switch between both types of models.

Back End Performance

We are consistently looking for ways to improve the speed that FenestraPro Premium interacts with the Revit model. With Version 4.1 we have really taken huge strides at maintaining the dynamic, real-time functionality, as the User develops or modifies the Revit model.
